Ilyce Glink
CEO / Founder
Ilyce Glink is an award-winning, nationally syndicated columnist, radio talk show host, a communications and media strategist, an innovator in content marketing and the founder of four Chicago-based companies.
She is the author of more than a dozen books, including the best-selling 100 Questions Every First-Time Home Buyer Should Ask, now in its fourth edition, and she has nearly 1 million books in print. She was the founder and managing editor of the Equifax Finance Blog until 2016, and is the publisher of several web properties, including ThinkGlink.com, a 7,000+ page site dedicated to helping consumers make the best decisions with their money.
She spent 8 years as on-air talent/producer for WGN-TV and nearly 18 years hosting a top-rated Sunday talk show and filling in for syndicated talk show host Clark Howard for WSB-AM, in Atlanta, has hosted two syndicated radio programs, and has appeared on every major network’s morning news programs, Oprah, CNBC, CNN, and Fox Business.
More than 15 years ago, Glink started Think Glink Media, a digital communications agency that combines technology, creativity and experience to build online and offline connections through powerful communities, breakthrough native advertising, and first-person social engagement. The result is award-winning work, profitable campaigns and loyal customers. TGM’s clients include Fortune 1000 companies in the financial services, real estate, and health sectors as well as start-ups and nonprofits.
Her latest company is Best Money Moves, a cloud-based, mobile-first financial wellness solution that companies provide to their employees to help them pay down personal debt and improve their financial lives. The result is lower turnover, absenteeism and financial stress, higher employee engagement and productivity, lower healthcare costs and better health outcomes.
Glink has won numerous awards throughout her career, including Best Consumer Reporter, Best Magazine Report, Best Blog, and Best Television Report from the National Association of Real Estate Editors. She has won several top awards from the Society of Business Editors and Writers (SABEW), including Best in Business Blog and the 2015 President’s Award. She also received the first Money $mart award from the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and received two Peter Lisagor Awards for Exemplary Journalism from the Chicago Headline Club. In 2006, she was nominated for an Emmy® Award. She was co-founder of the Medicare Newsgroup, and part of the team that won the 2012 Web Marketing Association’s award for outstanding achievement in web development for MedicareNewsGroup.com.
Angus Carroll
President
Angus Carroll is a proven, hands-on, growth-oriented, high-energy marketing professional specializing in product development, Internet content marketing, digital publishing, new products/new markets, industry partnerships, and ground-breaking strategies in education, digital communities, publishing and information services.
He has held executive positions in technology, marketing and business development at several Fortune 500 companies, including Dun & Bradstreet and Ceridian, and small technology companies including Medicus and MindLeaders.
Prior to joining Best Money Moves, Carroll was Vice President of Editorial and Production at Cengage Learning, one of the largest educational publishers in the U.S., where he headed online content and digital product development. There he was responsible for the editorial group, product development, and online products.
When not managing technology and growth at Best Money Moves, Angus is the curator of Darwin & Dinosaurs, a high tech/high touch traveling museum exhibit that explores Darwin’s life and work, from his voyage around the world to his development of the theory of natural selection.
April Powell
Director of Operations
April Powell serves as the Director of Operations at Best Money Moves. April is responsible for driving operational excellence across the business overseeing day-to-day operations and ensures effective collaboration across the team.
Before this, she worked in Asset Management for the same core team for nineteen years. As an associate on the Dynamic Allocation Strategies (DAS) Team at William Blair, she assisted in managing multiple competing priorities, ensuring that the team’s tasks were tracked and executed efficiently. Prior to William Blair, she was the business manager for Singer Partners, providing multifaceted support across all functions of the company. April worked at UBS where she led activities for senior investment staff including facilitating the interaction of the GIS business committee and the UBS Global Asset Management product innovation and strategy committee.
Kris Mackenzie
Lead Content Designer
Kris has been with Best Money Moves since its inception and has spent the past decade expanding its user learning center to showcase more than 1000+ unique written and video resources. She’s passionate about demystifying complex financial topics and bringing education to underserved communities.
In addition to her work with Best Money Moves, she has consulted on content strategy for industry-leading brands, including a Big Ten university and a Fortune 500 credit reporting agency.
